| Personal History | Mara Venn was born on Bajor in 2360, during the final years of the Cardassian Occupation. Too young to remember much of it herself, she grew up during Bajor's reconstruction, raised by parents whose lives had been shaped by the Occupation. Her childhood gave her an appreciation for patience, self-reliance, and the importance of looking beyond what people simply accepted as fact. Rather than pursue a commission, Mara chose to enlist in Starfleet and eventually found her way into Intelligence. Over nearly two decades of service, she has developed into an experienced Intelligence Specialist with a particular talent for research, information collection, and finding details buried within large amounts of seemingly unremarkable data. Mara has never been particularly interested in rank or recognition; she takes pride in being exceptionally good at what she does and has become the kind of experienced specialist that younger officers quickly learn to listen to. |
