[PREVIOUSLY]

"Acknowledged." Again, Charg took several breaths in his mind he visualized the battle. The Federation ships coming in against overwhelming odds as the station waited. If everything went to plan the station would be armed and operational and an utter shock to the Cardassian forces. They needed to arrive after the station opened fire, but before the surprise had faded.

"DaH!" [Now!]

His battleship and the squadrons under his command jumped into warp.

[Space Near DS5]

The Federation and Vulcan ships appeared behind the enemy fleet. Outnumbered four to one, they would have to rely on guerilla tactics to do as much damage as they could while avoiding enemy fire until the Klingon ships arrived. T'mpest was hoping to take out as many weapons as they could in the first round of attacks. But she was realistic enough to know they wouldn't come out of this unscathed. Or that they were here without Starfleet's knowledge or permission.

Wishing the other captains luck, she ordered all weapons to target the largest of the Cardassian ships. "Fire."

She heard the order repeated from the five other ships. "Damage report?"

"Direct hits. Rear torpedoes and phaser arrays on all six ships damaged."

Good. But that was the easy part. "Keep forward shields up and fire until the rear weapons are down. Then move to the next target."

The Tiahuanaco took out rear weapons on two ships before they turned and fired.\

"Get as close as you can so they can't target us. Reroute power to weapons and shields as needed."

She heard the reports from other departments about damage and injuries. "Launch torpedoes and probes." Science had packed explosives in a dozen probes to act as mines. They just needed to get close enough to the enemy ships.

The Cuzco targeted all weapons on one of the rear ships, focusing on shields. If they could take them down, the rest would be easy. As soon as they punched a hole in the shields, they focused phasers and torpedoes on the ship itself, continuing the barrage until they were hit. "Keep firing. Ops, divert power to forward shields. Helm, pattern delta, delta, gamma on my mark."

[N'AQ]

"Major Vishti, they have attacked first, and the other ships are moving into attack, awaiting your orders!" Khylara, the wife of Major Valadorn looked back towards where the CO of the N'AQ was seated. Khylara could feel the blood buzzing through her veins, the call to battle singing through her mind.

Vishti had been watching the monitor while the N'aq had been cloaked. " Prepare to fire on the rear Xi'Cadian cruiser. Disruptors set to full and pulse fire on the engines and launch a photon torpedo at the engineering section then recloak. As we pass diving in front to them deploy a cloaked anti-ship mine in front of them and make a hard turn to 237.013 and prepare for the next attack run. "

K'doc's fingers danced over the keyboard and input the commands and fired on the cruiser. The aft section of the cruiser’s shields flicked and faded as the port warp nacelle failed. The torpedo slammed into the ship as the cruiser bucked from the explosion and lost speed. The Bird of prey dove in front of the ship as it recloaked. The Xi’Cadian ship fired and hit the starboard wing as the ship as it cloaked. K'doc reported. " Minor hit to the Starboard wing, only light damage.

The Xi'Cadian cruiser forward section was suddenly bathed in a brilliant white light as they struck the mine. " Shields down. No power detected to the forward weapons, the enemy ship is adrift. " Reported K'doc.

Vishti stared at the Xi’Cadian ship adrift with no visible emotion. " Come about and fire on their engineering section again and finish them off and recloak. We'll next target the destroyer on their perimeter at 075.77 by 112.76 and hit them from underneath and pass behind them.

K'doc responded. " It shall be done Ambassador. " Shortly thereafter the cruiser exploded in a bright fireball and faded from existence. K'doc called out. " Enemy ship destroyed, we have evaded two torpedoes and are once again cloaked and heading for the second target. "

[ Xi’Cadian Ships and Cardassian Ships ]

The two remaining Sartan cruisers along with the three Galor 3 cruisers Charged in towards the federation and Vulcan ships Firing every disruptor that they could lock onto a ship and firing photon after photon at the defending ships as shields flickered and flared on the defending ships as torpedoes tried to punch holes in federation and Vulcan shields and disruptors raked across shields looking for a weak spot to penetrate and cause chaos to the defenders’ ships.

The eight Cardassian and eight Xi'Cadian destroyers broke into four squads of four destroyers each, with four coming from each major compass point of North, East, South and West. They charged in at the station firing disruptors and photons at the station and then suddenly split apart into single ship attack units swarming around the station like angry hornets firing upon whatever they could target and trying to take down weapons and shield generators.

The Cardassian Hut'q battleship and the Xi’Cadian Varaq battleship stood off at medium range and lobbed in photon torpedoes and powerful disruptor blast towards DS 5 with most of their forward weapons and targeted any federation or Vulcan with any remaining disruptor of any ship foolish enough to come into its crosshairs. The two ships traveled counter clockwise around DS 5 unloading their deadly arsenal traveling at one hundred eighty degrees apart and circling the station like two deadly predators closing in for the kill.

[Deep Space 5]

Matilda wasn't liking this not one bit, those ships out there were pounding the station like crazy, and they still had to sit here like sitting ducks? The station shook, sparks flew from consoles, after each hit. She called out via a secure channel to P'ril, "P'ril can you get up to Operations I-I am needing some hel- Ack!" as there was the sound of sparks flying and of panels popping from damaged the consoles are taking. She coughed as more smoke billowed out. She also called Ace. "Are you busy? Need some help up here. I think it's your job not mine! Get a move on!"

Matilda looked over towards Commander Ryan "When can we put up our shields? The station is getting hurt!"

Giving a slight huff, she keyed in the station wide communication. "Hello, Station Status reports please. How's everyone doing." Matilda glancing over towards Commander Ryan.

Ace called back on the comm to Matilda, "Do you think I'm not working, Red? I'm trying to get the shields up right now. It seems that someone shorted out the emitters and I'm trying to get them back online. Someone certainly knew what they were doing." He audibly growled into the comm device.

It took another moment but Matilda could hear the hum of energy being sent to the shields. "They're coming up now," Ace continued. "It will take 28 seconds until they are fully up, so I hope that our illustrious Vulcan knows a way to buy us time from being blasted into smithereens until then!"

Weapons came online first. "All weapons, disable their weapons, but no friendly fire," Ryan ordered. "All personnel, battle stations."

When Commander Ryan said Battle stations that is when Matilda hit red alert, the klaxon sounding everywhere. A small group of Cardassian's had made their way towards operations, where the controls of the shield as well as the heart of the station. The trio came around the corner bringing their weapons to bear on those there. Matilda was moving over to work on the one of the consoles which had been damaged, "Hey now what you are doing here?"

One of the Cardassians brought his weapon towards Matilda, the woman freezing in her tracks , things going in slow motion, to her. It looked like she was going to be losing her life here....

"Keep firing weapons," Caleb ordered as he pulled out his phaser and hit both Matilda and the Cardassian, stunning them. He hoped the ensign would forgive him, but it was easier to get them both than risk the Cardassian pulling some stunt to get the engineer killed.

Then he turned and shot at the other Cardassians. But they'd scattered and he only got two of them before another one hit him, dropping him to the ground.

[Security Control Center]

The panic alarm from station Ops flashed across the screen of Lecesse's console. There were teams in the vicinity, but not usually stationed there. Protocol was for the doors to be sealed and all personnel in the Command Center to be armed. They would worry about the cause later, right now the situation called for a rapid response.
=/\= Nexus to all teams. We have a spike in Ops. I repeat, we have a Spike in Ops.=/\=

Almost immediately she heard a response.
"This is DART Team 3. We're en route." A standard security team in the vicinity also responded to the call.
