Mission:
Chicken Run
Location: Level 90 Deep Space 5
Timeline: Early Afternoon
Transporter: Deck 90
Matilda had left Hannah behind. It wasn't her intention but there were things that she needed to do. And right now Matilda wanted some quiet time, to come up with a solution. Or if she failed it would only be her that had trouble and not Hannah.
Shaking her head, Matilda took out her engineering scanner, to take some readings. She wasn't about to fire up the transporter just yet. She had an evironmental suit on, she didn't want to breathe in the glitter dust. Her hands were bare, as she didn't have to worry about it being absorbed through the skin. From what she had found out, it wouldn't be absorbed via the skin.
She opened up her personal monitoring system and plugged it in, this was to see if there was a saved point before the infiltration of the glitter had come about. She pored over the data, taking notes, documenting when it happened, then continued on. To rid glitter from surfaces, would utilize moisture and also static electricity did attract glitter as well. Perhaps also cleaning the buffer would work as well.
How long had it been since it had been recalibrated? Glitter can interrupt the particles of light which could cause a duplicate happen. When one has two mirrors facing each other then they tended. Matilda mused over this possible situation. A mirror facing each other causes the infinity effect. Her face went pale, thinking of that, good thing that the transporters were ordered to be shut down. They would have had a catastrophic event and a horrifying one at that.
She shuddered, Matilda felt that she was going to need a drink after this. Maybe several drinks.
Static electricity wait, what if ionized air could be used to clear things off. That could work for the transporter. Humidity, get that introduced into the transporter system? She went back to the ionization theory. A short blast of ionization should calm the static electricity and get the glitter cleared out of the transporter buffers, Also once that is taken care of, the transporters could lock onto the neutralized glitter and transport it to somewhere. Definitely didn't want the glitter to be introduced into the replicator supplies. Oh are they going to have to restock the replicator supplies?
She checked that quickly the replicators were shut off at the same time the transporters were. They certainly did their job. Made her feel proud to be part of that team. Now for the work. Having isolated the transporter, Matilda set to work, activating the transporter after using an ionizer to clear the transporter. She had gotten a sample, running its composition through a diagnosis. Now maybe if she can program the computer to create the ionization for the other transporters. Then another idea came to her what if a transported ionization globe were to be transported set to trigger once it materialized.
Another transporter needed to be activated so that there would be a site to site transport with the ionization globe. She quickly sent a message to an operations officer, informing them of her idea. If this worked out, then the transporters could be used once more. It was going to have to be a coordinated activation.
She waited filled with anxiousness, then she got the message from the other operations officer. Glitter inert. That was something that she was happy to hear about. Time to get the station back up and running.
